excellent. read because of the show that I quite liked back in 2016 (?), but this is much better told and actually has an ending. I did, however, find myself imagining Lashana Lynch as Rosaline despite the description, because she's just so excellent in the role. I sped through it all in one day, short and to the point, eliminating the fatigue of a lot of other YA stories. To add to that, as a person who rarely has time for fiction nowadays (even though she loves it so much!), I've grown up in terms of taste, and the melodramatic romances I once used to love no longer appeal - or at least make me cringe. This, I'm thankful to say, had none of that - the romance that dominates the book is lovely, subtle, and most of all believable - I had a huge grin on my face at the end, and that is always a good sign. Might have to start a club just to talk about this book, because I'm pretty sure everyone has been and forgotten about this book and the show it spawned...

I read this book because I have recently become addicted to the new tv series based on this book. The storyline and the characters were rather simplistic, minus Rosaline, and the ending was predictable.

So far, I like the changes the tv series has made but I'm glad to have read this book.

Stayed up past 4am to finish. No regrets. Both had a big smile at the end and mourned that there was nothing more to read. ❤️❤️

Cool concept- watched the show, just started to get into it annnnnd it was canceled so that was disappointing

I absolutely adore this!!
A must read 4 people who have read Romeo & Juliette by Shakespeare

I will forever be in mourning for the tv show and my grumpy reluctantly-in-love babies Benvolio and Rosaline, so I thought I'd pick this up to get my fix. It was a quick read and there was quite a bit of kissing, which is really all I required from this book.

3.5

An interesting take on Shakespeare. Characters are believably irritable with each other, which makes the ending that much sweeter.
I'm usually not a fan of love-triangles, but this one didn't make me want to gag myself, so props to the author.

love me some good romeo and juliet fanfiction

I'm a sucker for historical fiction. Especially when it has romance in it too. I enjoy the story of Romeo and Juliette so I figured I'd give this book a chance. I love the fact that is seems to pick up only a week or so after the tragic deaths of Romeo and Juliette. I borrowed this from the library, but I may need to start looking for a hard copy to add to my book collection so I can read it again and share it with friends!
