It is an art to feel throughout the whole book that you don‘t know the character just to realize at the end that all along you were learning about him when he was observing others.
There was this distance to the main character although it was narrated in form of a diary. You always felt an invisible wall between you and this character. You saw the world through his eyes but you never have seen him.

It is hard for me to form a consistent impression of Han Kang's writing. While "The Vegetarian" went completely over my head and I couldn't understand its popularity, I loved "Human Acts" and would count it as one of my absolute favourites. (I also read "The White Book", and it was kinda okay.)
I couldn't pin down, where on the scale this book might fall. I enjoyed the theme of bodies and beauty standards and shame. The story and atmosphere was weird and mesmerizing, but I found it hard to engage with the story or to pin down a definite meaning which stood out for me. I will keep it in my collection for now. Oh, and I really need to reread "Human Acts".

non nửa đầu thấy thực sự hoàn hảo (?) nhưng càng về cuối càng kịch và cringeworthy, không đến mức quá lố nhưng tui kỳ vọng nhiều hơn ở một tác giả như này ok?
