This was not my favorite Karen Kingsbury book, but I did enjoy it. Maybe, being a football fan, I expected more from the NFL storyline. Maybe it was just my mood at the time and how everything always works out perfectly in the end that bothered me a bit. Who knows, I'm definitely a moody reader :)

On to the next book, one of the Guidepost Home to Heather Creek books, which I can't find listed here at GoodReads. Bummer :(

I really liked this one! I was really mad at the ending at first.

This book was amazing. I really enjoyed this book.

This is about 4 people: Megan Gunn, Cory Briggs, Aaron Hill, and Derrick Anderson. Megan is the foster parent to Cory when his mother dies 2 years ago. Aaron and Derrick play for the 49ers. It is about how Cory believes that Aaron is his father because his mother has told him this his whole life and when he gets the chance to tell him Cory writes to Aaron. Derrick is trying to help Aaron be better at the game they love but there is much more that happens because of this. It is about them all figuring out what it means to follow Jesus and live between Sundays.

I loved that this had to do with foster kids. I never really knew that much about what happens to kids who are in foster care until reading this book. It made me happy that this is out there. It was good book and I feel like I learned a lot about what can happen to foster kids and what will happen to them when they turn 18.

The characters are enjoyable. Bill Bond, Aaron Hill's agent, really annoyed me. He was really self centered and thought he knew best for Aaron but most of it was lies that Aaron finds out later. His personality really bugged me throughout this book. Aaron's attitude in the beginning was annoying and I was hopping throughout the first half of the book that he was not going to end up being Cory's father at all. Megan was amazing for taking in Cory when his mother died and treating him like he was her own son. Her strength in this book was awesome to see. Cory was too cute. I loved how he never gave up on the idea that Aaron was his father. He was willing to believe this to the end. Derrick was an amazing role model for Aaron and just for the other characters. The way he treated everyone including his family was so honoring and his faith in God was amazing.

This story was just an amazing read and I cant wait to read more from Karen Kingsbury because her books have made me happy and just love her story telling.

I officially like Karen Kingsbury's novels. This is the third one I have read. The first one was nice but not fantastic, the second one was emotionally wrenching and well written, and this one was great. The plot was awesome; I was on the edge of my seat wondering when Aaron would find out the truth and how it would affect him, when he would give in to God and turn his life around, and how his relationship with Megan would progress. I love the supporting characters especially Derrick Anderson and his family. The love they have for God and each other is so special and makes me want that in real life. I really appreciated that Kingsbury had Black people in her novel, in a way that made them feel like really people and didn't overemphasize and play to stereotypes. The ending was fantastic. Cody is such an endearing character and you are rooting for him the entire time. Highly recommend this book.

Not gonna lie, I enjoyed the plot of the story but I think this lasted too long. It was kind of obvious what was going to happen but it took so long for it to happen. I liked the characters, of course Cory was my favorite. I liked the plot and the characters were very developed.

It's been a while since I've read one of Kingsbury's books. This story is about a little boy who enters the foster system after his mother dies, the mother's friend who steps in as a foster mom, and an all-star quarterback living the dream life. It is set in San Francisco. I enjoyed the story and the reminder that our lives are more than what happens on Sunday, but how we live between Sundays. A great tribute to the power of God to make real-life miracles happen in ways we could never imagine.
