Cute but a little boring, and I found the pacing a bit weird. The narration by Anne Hathaway was great though.
never read this book as a child and thought I'd check it out for my daughter. I found this book extremely dull , very 1 dimensional characters, purely plot driven and not even particularly funny. it also reinforces traditional stereotypes for little girls, so will certainly not recommend this to my own children. sorry, but this is one classic that should be left on the shelf!

I've read this before, a long time ago, and I wasn't disappointed by my re-read. This book truly is a classic. It is easy to read (it was written for children after all) and can be finished in almost one sitting. What I REALLY loved was the forward for this particular edition. It has some great insights into the story and was VERY well written.
