Cute, witty, quick read. Fast paced. Real seeming and lovable characters. 1/10 spice level.

I loved the premise of this book, and both main characters were delightfully nerdy. I’m also 99% sure I don’t want kids but the 1% is because of Juno.

The romance was cute. I liked the idea of it being a scientific matchmaking service.
River is the typical romance hunk.
But, the ending felt rushed. So their scores were faked and we don't knww their true new score only that on the last few pages its referenced as a new diamond score? Didn't really like that. Also she refused to work with people skewing data, but didn't putmire of a fight for the fake data that was used in all the media initially? Didn't seem right

The authors admit in the acknowledgments that the premise of their story—that DNA analysis could be used by a matchmaking app as a component of finding someone’s soulmate— is “entirely theoretical and probably scientifically impossible.” I would have been OK with that, though, if the other parts of the story made sense.
I thought about writing a longer review and going into detail, but there’s no way to do it spoiler-free. The brief version is: I enjoyed it enough to finish it, and some of the side characters were great. In fact, the two main characters were great. It’s just that the way the authors developed the romance didn’t make sense to me. The final conflict was an interesting twist, but the resolution was a head-scratcher. It did keep me moderately entertained on a travel day, so there’s that.

I was thinking about this book all day while i wasn’t reading. Kinda predictable, and i still feel like River was fishy at the end. The romantic in me wants to enjoy the ending she wrote though. I like how christina writes but I probably won’t read again.
