I love PG but this book is pretty boring. I am disappointed with the ending. I was hoping it would extend into Kathryn's life after Henry but unfortunately it mainly focused on the back and forth constant two faced behavior of Henry VIII. I wish some had called him on his shit in the end but sadly that didn't happen. It's hilarious that after all he did to become the head of the Church of England, it's possible he might have requested Catholic traditions for his funeral.
I wish Kate had filled the royal nursery with Thomas Seymour's children.

For a lot of the book I had no idea why it was called the Taming of the Queen, but it becomes clear at the end. This book shows pretty well the irrationality of Henry at the end of his life. It must have been terrifying to live only at his whim. There's also lots of the history of religion in here, which could make for a slow read if you're not into that. There's less court intrigue than in some of her other Tudor novels, and more theology. Basically I'll read anything about this time period and I like her writing.
This was the third book I’ve read from this series. It was told from the perspective of Henry VIII’s sixth wife. I absolutely loved the other two books, but this was moved a little slower.
I love her historical novels. About Henry VIII last queen Katelyn Parr.
I have decided the best way to read Philippa Gregory's books is to listen to them on audio. The narrator, Bianca Amato did a wonderful job on this one.

An enjoyable Phillips Gregory foray into the life of kind Henry VIII’s final wife, Katherine Parr. I really enjoyed her as a character and the politics of the religious conflict that she was involved in. She was an extraordinary woman and scholar and I was genuinely moved and scared by the danger she faced as Queen. Always a good sign when you can feel tension in a book even though you know form history that she will survive. Out of the three Gregory books I have read about King Henry VIII’s wives, this was the least complex/moving, but I still really enjoyed it.
An interesting perspective on what Katherine Parr's marriage to Henry VIII may have been like. I'm not sure I agree entirely with the author's take, but it was interesting nonetheless.
Fantastic book! Philippa Gregory great as always. A great edition to the Tudor series
