Let me start by saying that I’m a HUGE Eve fan. I’m a born and raised Philly girl, and I grew up in a family connected to Eve and her family, so needless to say I was excited to read this book. Not to mention, attending the book signing was an amazing experience as well. However, I have to admit, I didn’t enjoy this memoir as much as I hoped I would.

I think the issue for me is that I already know so much about Eve, and the book didn’t offer anything new or engaging. It felt a bit chaotic in its writing, and I struggled to find fresh insights. But perhaps I wasn’t the target audience for this memoir. It might be more suitable for those less familiar with her rise to fame and her incredible journey.

When I saw the title, Who’s That Girl—which happens to be one of my favorite Eve songs—I was expecting to learn something more profound, something beyond the surface-level information we’ve all read in tabloids or heard from her over the years.

The memoir felt very surface-level overall. While I don’t believe a good memoir needs to be filled with drama or gossip, I do think it needs to be deeply engaging, and I found that lacking here. One aspect where the book was refreshingly transparent, though, was in Eve’s discussion of her fertility struggles.

I absolutely love Eve. As an artist, entrepreneur, businesswoman, boss, actress, mother, wife, rapper, entertainer, and fashion icon, she has so much to offer. She could write hundreds of books in the future, and I sincerely hope she does!

Another good Memoir for the books !!! I’m lovingggg the fact that the celebrity women , who I literally grew up looking at , are finally sharing their story. I’ve been here for almost every memoir this year.

Eve did a great job at giving us a little tea, & still keeping it very cutesy , very demure. The whole book gave healed. Not fake meditate & say affirmations in the mirror healed. But actually , moved on from her past, loving where she’s at healed.

I will admit to being kinda upset that she didn’t give us more bread crumbs into the lives of DMX , Jay Z , Diddy , & some more heavy names that was dominating the hip hop scene during her era.
But I do believe once you’ve grown past something , it’s no need to keep carrying it with you.

Slight Spoiler * : I love that she mentions , how she had money before her husband — & still has her own funds with him. It’s very true Eve had her own clothing line before Baby Phat . Eve was also one of the first women in hip hop on the big screen. She paved the way for women to rap about more than just thier body.

Not Mentioned in the Book * : But , Eve also just sold the rights to her music & while some ppl are saying how is it even worth that much — then you clearly don’t Who’s Thatttttt Girl !!

The book was just okay. Eve didn’t really give us a lot of information that was not on Google. A lot of times I would read parts of the book and question why she even included it. She was vague throughout the entire book. It still was nice to read her challenge as a female rapper in the industry.

I really enjoyed Who's That Girl, especially with Eve herself narrating the audiobook. Her voice brought so much authenticity to the story. Eve is a true girl's girl, always supporting women throughout her career, and it really shines through in the book. I loved how open she was about her struggles with addiction, her experiences in therapy, and her journey toward finding peace. It felt real and honest. Wishing her continued peace and success as her journey moves forward!
