Now y’all really know Who That Girl is! While I don’t always gravitate toward memoirs, this one truly held my attention and left me feeling moved. Eve’s journey is both engaging and a testament to the idea that your beginning isn’t your end—there are endless possibilities within you.

Though there were moments where I wished for deeper dives into certain aspects of her life, I appreciated how open, transparent, and candid Eve was throughout the memoir. She kept it real while still maintaining her characteristic charm. It was refreshing to witness her growth, her evolution, and how each phase of her life shaped her.

Having both the audiobook and the physical book was a unique experience. Hearing Eve narrate her own story added an intimate, authentic layer that connected me even more deeply to her journey. The narration felt so true to her voice—who better to tell your story than yourself?

This memoir is succinct, real, and ultimately enjoyable. As I closed the book, I couldn’t help but wonder: what’s next for Eve?

In this memoir, I was glad to get a closer look at Eve, the artist, wife, and mother I’ve followed for years, especially since I grew up in Jersey, right outside of Philly, and her music was part of my upbringing. The book shines as Eve dives into her high school experience, her deep bond with her aunt, and the pivotal two months that motivated her to pursue a new path. These moments felt raw and real, giving insight into the struggles and victories that shaped her.

However, the reading experience had its challenges. The timeline jumps around, which made it tough to piece together the flow of her story. At times, I wished the chapters indicated specific years or had a clearer sequence, as it often felt like moving forward only to be pulled backward in the next chapter. While this back-and-forth could work well in a movie, with Eve narrating and visually weaving her story together, it left me feeling a bit lost as a reader.

Another aspect I noticed was Eve’s tendency to hint at certain people or situations without fully addressing them. Whether due to NDAs, privacy reasons, or just wanting to avoid controversy, there are moments where she seems to hold back, and as someone who only knew bits and pieces from childhood, I was left curious. I’ll likely end up going down a Google rabbit hole to fill in some of the gaps.

Eve does explore her past and identity in meaningful ways, but I would have loved more about her life today as a mom, wife, and resident of London. While I respect her choice to keep parts of her story private, these details would have added even more depth. Overall, I’m happy to have read it and gained a deeper understanding of who she is beyond the artist I grew up listening to.

Who's that girl? La la la la la la la la la la la, Eve's that girl!!!

Really enjoyable memoir & audiobook. I wish it was longer, but I understand why she didn't elaborate more on certain topics. The parts of her life she did share were interesting, and we got to know her a little bit better. She also narrates the audio, so the story feels more personal when you listen.

I'd recommend this to fans, non fans, and haters of Scientology alike. I'M SORRY, I had to after that Scientology section, she was right to not accept any food from them, if you ask me.

P. S. I love seeing fellow Scorpios winning, go Eve!!

Big fan of Eve and it was cool to journey through her career, but it felt like this was missing something.
I think a level of vulnerability?

There were big things mentioned but we were given no context or build up for them so they just didn’t land the way they should have. There was also a lot of NLOG energy and respectability politics (which makes sense considering her upbringing and what she was surrounded by in the industry) so I think it would have helped to have more background so that we could connect to these moments.

I found the order of events was sometimes off which made it a bit confusing.

Still an interesting read, I just wish I’d finished it feeling like I understood Eve more as a person, rather than just getting a Wikipedia type run down of highlights.
