Week 27 Book 24
The woman who walked in sunshine by Alexander McCall Smith
Rating: 4/5

Another beautiful book in the No 1 Ladies Detective Agency series. It is always good to dip into the lives of Precious and Grace. Easy to read, warm to feel. Can't wait to read the next in line!

Alexander McCall Smith is a writer extraordinaire. Ma Ramotswe is a loveable and endearing character and his understanding of the the people of Botswana, makes it a book for the lover of Africa. Listening to the audiobook (Bolinda Audio - narrated by Adjoa Andoh) was extra special, do yourself a favour. ❤️

I didn't like this one quite as well. Too much misunderstanding between the characters.

Audible version: Another perfect bedtime story read by Lisette Lecat. I’m not worried about going too quickly through these because I can’t wait to start over from the beginning of the series!

Could we please go back and focus on Mma Ramotswe instead of Mma Makutsi? I don't know, I feel like the last couple of books have moved the gentle yet determined owner of the N. 1 Ladies Detective Agency a little on the side. We know a lot about Mma Makutsi's son, for example, but the childrens of Mma Ramotswe are growing up in very few words.
I still enjoy reading this warming ad spirit-lifting series, but the older books are better.

Cases have slowed at the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency and Grace Makutski convinces Precious Ramotswe to take a greatly deserved vacation. The problem is that Precious doesn't want to take a vacation, wonders what is going on at the office, and ultimately finds herself in the midst of an investigation or two. This gentle series never disappoints.

Det är något med McCall Smiths böcker. Jag ogillar en hel del av hans genus-stereotyper, ändå finns det något så tryggt och förnöjt i att förlora sig i dem en stund.

Lighthearted nonsense. Perfect for listening to on car trips
