I was reading this book when I was once again reminded that I don't read them for the mysteries but for the characters and their relationships. I hope one day I'll write characters that people will want to check in with again and again, just to see how their lives are going.
Another nice and easy read with this book which is just what I needed before my holiday.

Another fun book in the series... I look forward to the new book each year;)
I love the writing and the characters, but I wish there had been a bit more mystery-- the actual plot kicks in very late, though is cleverly handled.
With the cover and description of this, I was fully expecting Mma Ramotswe to be traveling somewhere on her holiday and finding some interesting mystery away from her usual stomping grounds in Gabarone to solve. Instead, I learned that she's one of those that tries taking a vacation at home and has no clue how to do it...so winds up working anyway. I could teach her a thing or two about vacation, that's for sure.
I'm always struck by how kind a lady she is. While some would call what she does meddling, it always has such a kind and helpful slant to it rather than wanting to get to the bottom of some gossip. Definitely one of my favorites of the recent books.

A wonderful addition to the series, The Woman Who Walks in Sunshine has a theme that is common as we age---weary in our jobs, yet not quite able to let go enough to enjoy our time away. I thoroughly enjoyed this read !
Love this series! Each book is full of wisdom and love.
