Es entretenido, el mundo me gusta, la química entre ellos está bien, pero bueno, no es demasiado original el argumento. Sin más... Bien. Seguiré leyendo la saga? sip.

Katria has always sworn that she’d never fall in love, not after she’s seen what it can do at the hands of her cruel stepmother and stepsister. When her stepmother marries her off to an enigmatic lord for a hefty sum, all she wants is to live a better life than the one she’s leaving behind. But when she actually meets and gets to know her new husband, she finds it harder and harder to keep her head on straight.

Yet despite the new feelings dwelling deep inside her, Katria’s curiosity only grows as the strange rules of her new household become her norm. And when Katria stumbles into something she never should’ve witnessed, she finds herself whisked away to Midscape, the land of the Fae - a place where humans can’t survive.

Wow!!! This book was absolutely amazing!!! I absolutely adored Katria and Davien’s story. The world building in this novel was exquisite as always, and the plot definitely kept me on my toes!!! I loved all the twists and turns the author took me on as well. This book had it all - romance, action, drama, banter, magic… I’m completely and totally obsessed with this world the author has created.

Katria. I really admire her, because she’s not a damsel in distress. She’s strong, smart, and witty, and she can definitely keep up with the Fae and their tricks. I loved her determination and the way she didn’t let anyone walk all over her. Davien. He’s absolutely amazing! Yes, he made a few mistakes, but I truly believe he’s a good man, and that he cares about his kingdom. I also loved watching his relationship with Katria grow and develop over the course of the novel. I definitely recommend!

DNF - 147 pages

This was boring. Very slow-paced for my liking, tried to push through the middle, but just couldn't anymore.
Also, I didn't like both leads. Davien was just straight-up rude and Katria was just unlikable to me.
Liked "A deal with the elf king" way more.

I don’t know. I thought this was interesting and it kept my attention and I probably even enjoyed it.

Except I didn’t care about anything. Like the love story was weird and not a focus and sort of disjointed. Like the story didn’t need it (which is crazy bc it’s the only reason I was reading)

I don’t care about her family, if she dies, the fae kingdom, if they every build the towns, if everyone gets murdered, if all the magic dies. I kind of wish she was gutted or something and they had a new main character with at least one personality trait beyond “broken home.” I honestly didn’t care about any of it but at the same time I was like… continue.

It’s like when someone is telling you a story about something mundane, like how their day was, but they add a little bit of flourish every now and then so you just sit there and nod even though you don’t care.

This is arguably a better book than the elf king bc of the stuff that happens and the additional characters but wow was I not invested.

My favorite part of the book is the mom actor screaming in the last few minutes of the book.
