Jeffrey Archer is indeed the king of story-tellers. He definitely knows how to tell a story with the right set of emotions! This was my second jeffrey archer and there began my love affair with Jeffrey Archer's books.
The book is predictable, but what is amazing is how Archer strongly presents each character and brings them to life. The emotions and the way he has told the story is so real ,it is almost like watching it happen with your eyes.

Its the type of book i am really interested in and definitely kept me hooked. I LOVE eastern europe plot lines and characters, i find they always interest me and hold my attention. I enjoyed the style of writing and the way the story flowed into different perspectives and different generations of the family so smoothly. Very much reminded me of the Century series i've read previously by Ken Follet-which i loved. I just dont think i was fully ready for a book with such harsh emotion and so full of regret, especially straight after reading my fantasy romance books. However i did think it was an amazing book which obviously had incredible thought behind it
I thought I was checking out the Clifton Chronicles. I'm glad for the error. I really enjoyed this book. I like how each chapter was devoted to Kane or Ables story line. These too men were amazing and frustrating at the same time. I loved the ending although it was predictable I still shed tears at the wasted years of feuding.

I enjoyed this book, but not as much as I expected to. The plot was interesting but I felt like the writing didn’t express any of the emotions / thoughts of the characters. I didn’t feel attached to them, just interested in the story.
For the series reader - this ones for you. my mother let me read this book in high school and I wad hooked! I went back and read it ad an adult and enjoyed it even more.
