What a fun and well-written book. Seriously, lovers of A Knight's Tale should thoroughly enjoy this story. The characters were wonderful and the plot kept me turning the page. Also, I loved the narrator interludes.
Update at 45% of audio:
I am so sad to DNF this one. Unfortunately, I was drawn out of the story so many times that almost halfway through I was still having trouble connecting with and caring about the characters. I really wanted to enjoy this, and I honestly should have loved it, but I don't want to end up giving a low rating at the end, so I will be DNF'ing without a rating.
Update at 36% of audio:
For a dual POV written in third person, I really wish the chapters were titled with the character's names, or at least something to make them more distinctive. I'm listening to the audio and unfortunately I have been confused during every chapter about which POV we were supposed to be in because they both sounded exactly the same. In fact, I was many chapters into the story before I realized it was supposed to be dual POV and not third person omniscient.
And I don't believe this issue is audio-specific -- I believe I would have the same POV issue had I read the ebook or print versions. The confusion and puzzling together whose POV I'm supposed to be following keeps drawing me out of the story completely.
