This book had my shipper-heart going everywhere! Here's a rough description of my roller coaster of emotions: Will!! Ohh, but Jem! BUT WILL. Oh, JEM! No, Will. Yes, definitely Will. BUT JEM. No, Will! Will! Yeah, Will! And then noooooooooooo.

I thought it was fairly obvious that this curse couldn't have been in place, because contrary to what Will thinks, there are a lot of people who love him! It just had me thinking of the book, One Day. My favorite line there was the whole "I love you, Dexter. I just don't like you anymore.". Which for ME proved that it IS possible to love people, even if they aren't always nice. Love kind of just grows on you, even if you want it or not (Tess being a fantastic example)!

The MOMENT Jem went into her room - yeah, THAT scene - I thought to myself that this could not possibly bring anything good. And then when he PROPOSED. Goddamnit. No turning back. Ugh, and I LOVED seeing Will so damn happy and giddy, and it made me cry because I knew it would not last. Hope this will be resolved in a humane way, without hurting Jem too much, ASAP in the next book. Like, seriously. I even caught myself thinking "Well, if Jem dies soon, Tessa can finally be with Will", and I do NOT want to think like that because I LOVE Jem. But like I've said before, I will always ship the pairing with most chemistry. Yes, you might feel safe with the other guy, and sometimes feel sparks, but, dudette, if you're with the guy, and still can't get the other guy out of your mind, you're not with the right guy!

So yeah. Keep in mind that this review was written the moment after finishing the book, so the thoughts are jumbled and all over the place.

I don’t know why I’m not really enjoying this series, not sure if it’s because I’m listening to it instead of reading it. But I don’t feel close to any of the characters and I’m not really invested in the story at all. I wanted to like this series as I’ve heard a lot of good about it and people enjoying the whole shadowhunter world and I do think it’s a good concept. But yeah, don’t know if it’s for me or not.

Somehow better than the first one, and to everyone comparing it to "The Mortal Instruments," stop insulting the masterpiece that is this series.
