Despite sounding like a thriller from the back cover, this is not. It is horror, and pretty crude horror at that. There's very little finesse in the writing. Jack Kilborn, J.A. Konrath and joe Kimball made my "do not pick up again" list based on this book and "Timecaster", which had the same problem. (Except with random gratuitous unwilling sex rather than violence.)

Crazy, Wild, Intense book. This book was non-stop action and suspense from the get go. If you enjoy the horror/thriller genre this is worth reading.

Wow. This reads just like a scary movie! Very graphic in gory detail, Kilborn does not fail in creeping out his readers thoroughly (in a horror film kind of way). I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. It had gore, suspense, a little bit of romance, violence, and humor all rolled into one. My favorite part is that the author always gets a reader personally involved with all the characters and really makes one care for the people in his stories. That's why it matters when they eventually die in some spectacularly awful, bloody way.. haha. Anyway, I enjoyed this novel and look forward to more from him!

I read this after Endurance, and while I enjoyed it quite a bit, I didn't think it had quite the same level of scariness that Endurance did. This was gruesome, but seemed more of a thriller/suspense novel than true horror. But I'm pretty picky about my horror. Still, a very good read though.

Nothing too deep or life-changing, but it was a fun read, although I struggled to get interested in it at first.

This was described as a terrifying & scary book, but I found it was more gross than scary.
