Wow...Phewww...What a disturbing book. I was less than half way through and I already lost count of all dead bodies. And they just kept piling up and up...This book gave me nightmares (and I kind of liked it because the last time a book game me nightmares, I was still a kid..LOL)

The horror genre is not one I visit too often. This book made me sleep with the light on! The horror is not from the explanation of horrible things - and there are such descriptions. The author leaves just enough to the imagination to make certain aspects of this book truly terrifying. Nothing is scarier than the depths our own minds will sink too, if someone is clever enough to open the right doors. Mr. Kilborn opens some doors. An excellent debut. If you love this genre you'll love this book.

Excellent! Yes, it was gory, like other reviewers commented, but IMO not gratuitously so. I loved the relationships built between Duncan and Wiley and Duncan and Mathison. Definitely recommended!

A great "airplane read", as a friend of mine likes to say. Good if you have an hour or two to kill while travelling.

Reads a lot like I imagine the "Saw" series of movies would, if they were books.

A rollercoaster ride that never lets up. This is how I would describe this book. The tension never lets up from page one to the very end.

The story is set in small town Safe Haven, Wis. These are unsuspecting folks who all know each other and live in relative safety, until a helocopter crashes into their town in the middle of the night that will leave death and mayhem over the next 8 hours!!!
The towns folk are terrorized by a secret Red-Ops military team who have a mission to complete and need to squeeze the info out of anyone who will hand over want they want. But this is a special ops team that likes to cause pain and death and are programmed to do just want they like with a special microchip inserted into their brains.

This is a great beach read!!! Totally fun!

Amazing debut! Intense, fast paced and frighteningly believable. The action never stops. He grabs your interest at the start and never lets go.

Wow. This is the first Jack Killborn I've read and I was not prepared for the level of gore that he brought to the table. From the beginning we know that something is very wrong, and that no character is off limits to the sadistic wants of the squad bent on terrorizing this small town. This book was sickening, thrilling and had me racing to the end.
