Ah this book was so good. It was such an emotional journey. I loved Maggie so much. She was such a great character. I loved how this book had such a great message about overcoming your fears. I love how this book covers all of Maggie and Brooks life. From when they met when they were young to when they became a couple, and all the things along the way. The side characters were great. I really enjoyed Cheryl as a character. She embodied so much emotion, and really brought her struggling to fit into a new family to a new light. I loved her character’s growth throughout the book, and reading about her and Maggie’s relationship. It wasn’t always the best, but their sisterly bond was always there. The writing in this book was so well done. I felt things on such a deep level, this book truly moved me. It was so good. I loved how emotional I got while reading it. I don’t always get emotional when I read, but this one really did bring tears to my eyes, and I enjoyed every minute of it.

If you’re looking for a delightful, emotional read, full of heartbreak and romance, then you need to read this one.

Thank you so much to @sourcebookscasa and the author @bcherryauthor for sending me a copy of this book to read.

Crying is inevitable

Okay so I didn’t mean to cry while reading this at work but good golly here I am trying to discreetly wipe the tears from my eyes.

Brooks & Maggie are so damn sweet it’s heartbreaking. The love they have even from so young & the respect they had for each other, to be the anchors they needed was heart melting.

Such a sweet book with a heartbreaking background. I’m so happy they were able to get the HEA they always talked about.

DID NOT FINISH: 34%

No deep connections or build up/angst. Poorly written. Couldn’t finish - felt like I was reading a bad Wattpad book so that’s that.

I absoFREAKINGlutely loved this book and you know what this book was dedicated to ME!!!! Yeah Brittainy said so in her note at the end in case you missed it here it is...

"This is for all of the Maggie May’s of the world who sometimes feel so lost and alone. It’s for the ones who feel invisible. It’s for the ones who have panic attacks in their dark bedrooms at night. It’s for the ones who cry themselves to sleep, and wake up the next morning with tear stains still against the pillowcases. This book is yours. This book is your anchor. This book is proof that you, too, will find your voice. You are worthy of love, and success, and your dreams coming true. Never stop speaking, even when your voice begins to shake, okay? Never give up on yourself. You are important, you are loved, and your beautiful voice matters."

#IAmMaggieMay

I was not ready for this book. My heart hurt in all kinds of ways: as a child, a parent, a sibling, a best friend, a lover.

The storytelling is so poetic and heartbreaking. And it spans decades, which is always tricky but is done very well here.

When 10 year old Maggie loses her voice, her brother’s best friend and the boy she swore she’d marry someday, Brooks, promises to be her anchor and seems to be the only one who truly hears Maggie in her silence.

It’s about love that starts as friendship and is easy until others intervene. It’s about being there for each other in exactly the right way, even if that means giving someone space. It’s about keeping promises, even one’s made decades ago.

I loved every second of this book! Not just Maggie and Brooks’s story, but also Maggie’s parents and her siblings as well. It was a beautiful example of how one person’s trauma impacts those around them.

DID NOT FINISH

too sad :(

Eine tolle Geschichte und definitiv besser als Band 2.

Die Emotionen kamen wieder rüber und die Charaktere waren tiefgründig.

Die Handlung war spannend und das Ende perfekt Klischee. Aber es hat gepasst.
