How dare you rip my heart out of my chest and slowly put it back together? Tears, so many tears. Absolutely fantastic.

More of a 3.5 for me. I love B Cherry and her writing style. The book is captivating, but it wasn't enough for me.

One of my favorites

This is one of those books that sticks with you. I read it in one sitting and could not stop

Holy smokes

I'm literally crying my eyes out. This story was so emotional and seriously touching. I could not put it down. Amazing story.

Amazing!! Loved every word of this emotional story. 5 stars.

I HATE THIS BOOK! I HATE THAT IT MADE ME UGLY CRY A BILLION TIMES.

A TRILLION OUT OF FIVE STARS!

Post-reading-dramatic-antics aside though, this book was heaven sent. I felt all the feels Brittainy C. Cherry so effortlessly delivered in a lyrical way.

This book was a journey and that's exactly how I felt reading this. It felt like I was not only a mere reader but also a character in the story.

The writing was so masterfully woven that reading this literally seemed like not reading at all. If that even makes sense. It was just so dang effortless.

I seriously adored every character. But my adoration for Brooks was off the charts. He's the best one in this series, in my humble opinion. He's perfect. He's sweet, goofy, understanding, caring, CAN SING, PLAY AN INSTRUMENT AND HE READS! He was the hero I never hated, not even for a second. Seriously, where can I find a real life version of him?

“I love you, Maggie May,” he whispered, looking into my eyes. “I mean, I keep staring at you, and I can’t help but think, ‘Wow. I’m really loving this girl right now.’ You know? Everything about you, I love. The easy days and the hard ones, too. Maybe I love you even more on the hard days...

...I’m just sitting here, next to you, looking at the small freckles on your face that most people miss, thinkin’ about how much I love you in this moment.”

Maggie may not be my favourite heroine in the whole series but she's unbelievably amazing. No doubt about that. There may have been a couple of times I was frustrated at her but there were way more than a handful times I admired and respected her.

“You’ve been dealing with this all your life, and never once were you cold. You never turned against anyone.”

Maggie's family may not be perfect but they rock. I adore them to pieces. Mrs. Boone, and the rest of The Crooks as well. Everyone of them is special. Everyone of them has something to offer and stories to regale and lessons to impart and hands to lend.

The passages about reading were on literal point too.

"In the past ten years, I’d read over eight hundred books. I’d lived over eight hundred once upon a times. I’d fallen in love about six hundred and ninety times, fallen in lust maybe twenty times, and fallen in hate about ten billion times. Through those pages, I’d smoked pot, been skydiving, and gone skinny dipping. I’ve been stabbed in the back by friends—both physically and emotionally—and mourned the loss of loved ones."

"A person never reads an outstanding book twice and walks away with the same beliefs. An outstanding book always surprises you and awakens you to new ideas, new ways of looking at the world, no matter how many times the words have been read."

I'm sorry about all the passages but I can't help it when every single sentence in this book was highlight and bookmark worthy.

It goes without saying that I highly recommend this book. Obvs.

I'll be dropping the mic with this beautiful quote.

"The world keeps spinning because your heartbeats exist.”

3.5

This was one big, fat, emotional ride. And I enjoyed it.

I want to be like Mrs. Boone when I grow up. Every snarky word out of her mouth had me chuckling.

Honestly one of the best books I've read in my entire life!
