‘“The world keeps spinning because your heartbeats exist.”’
This book y’all was a ride or emotions!!! It’s been a while since I’ve gotten teary eyed over a book, I really wanted to cry, but I knew if I did I wouldn’t be able to finish it. This really felt like a healing journey, not just for the MCs, but also for her family. Brooks (28) and Maggie (28) are literally two halves to a whole. I think my favorite part was them just being able to exist with one another in the silence, no words needed.
This book is told in three parts, starting when they’re six to eight, part two and three as new adult. I just loved the fact that it flowed so beautifully.
Fun fact I actually started this series with the last book and decided to continue reading them backwards. They’re all standalones.
I loved almost all of this but the last like 25% just felt so rushed and ehh to me. After the accident, it lost its heaviness and wasn’t as captivating, I felt like I was being hurried through the rest of the story. That being said, it still was a good read for me!
4 ⭐️
Emotions. That’s really all I have to say. Brooks and Maggie are the perfect example of how trauma can be healed and that it doesn’t take short spans of time. Family and friends are important in the journey but also WORDS.

"Sometimes we are our own worst enemies. One must learn to be discerning with one’s own thoughts. We must be able to decipher the truth versus the lies of our minds. Otherwise, we become enslaved to the shackles of struggle we place on our own ankles.”
Sometimes you think you can't be surprised by books anymore but every now and then you find stories that truly and deeply resonated with you, ones that make you feel less alone. Maggie's story was one that truly made me feel seen. Now, while myself and Maggie's lives could not be more different, I truly know what it is to feel trapped and feel as though your voice has been taken. I truly loved reading about Maggie and Brooks helping each other through their dark times, leaning on each other and while sometimes they lost hope, they reminded each other that it was okay to deal with your trauma in your own time. We all need a little time sometimes and we all need to be reminded sometimes, that it's not your fault.
❤️❤️

I'm not sure I'm going to be able to add anything more to the reviews of this book without repeating what a majority of people have said already.
This book is in my top three books I have read this year and I'm not sure if any books could push it out of that spot.
I am no rookie when it comes to Ms. Cherry's writing! All it took was one book and I was hooked, that was 5 books ago. She has a way with words that just make them float off the page like a song. I constantly feel like these books are all too short because I consume them. No reading, I devour them in record time and then find myself dumbfounded and devastated, over the words that I read and how they are now over.
This book is no exception. It is a masterpiece that everyone should read. It gives you all the feels and then some.
I wish I was able to rate higher than 5 stars because this deserves more than that!
Great book!

“You okay today, Maggie May”
God this book was really good and sweet and a plethora of other descriptives.
Brooks, Mr.Riley, Mrs.Boone, Calvin, Cheryl were the most supportive system I’ve read in a while. The amount of love coming from them had me in tears.
“The world keeps spinning because your heartbeat exists”
(Maggie’s condition kinda felt dragged/slightly dramatic, Mrs.Boone was seriously the voice of reason in this regard)
The authors note at the end!!

This is my favorite book of the year!
De los tres libros que he leído este es el que se siente más personal.
Una historia con muchos matices en donde el dolor tiene muchas representaciones.
Me gusto mucho la historia y la manera como van construyéndose los personajes y sus relaciones.

I don’t even know how to put into words what I just read. This book was a masterpiece. @bcherryauthor is the most underrated author I have come across and I will die on that hill.
After a raving review from a booksta friend, I decided to dive into this book blind. It was one of those books that you just experience so many emotions throughout the book. I cried several times. I laughed have several times. The main characters were strong and relatable. We got to experience a really good background from their childhood to help us understand what actually happened as far as trauma went and see the FMCs healing journey throughout her life. I don’t want to give a synopsis because I truly enjoyed going in with no plot expectations and just riding out the journey. However I do have character thoughts. The love story in this book was so beautifully done. I especially adored her relationship development with her dad, who was we always there for her even when others didn’t understand her, and the relationship she created with her siblings as an adult. Her mother made me so insanely angry throughout the book, but in such a conflicting was. As a mother, her actions felt like she truly had her best interests in mind to protect her but just poorly executed.
I’m so mad I waited so long to read this series but now I immediately want more. 💜
