If you are looking for a Gossip Girl-Pretty Liars-esque YA thriller, this is the one for you!
I have really enjoyed all of Goodman’s books, and this one didn’t disappoint. There were constant twists and turns, and I loved the upscale NYC backdrop.
Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher, and Jessica Goodman for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I had fun! Very Gossip Girl. I love reading about rich kids in elite settings. New York, this institute, this ball, everyone's backstories. A fun time! I'll admit the book didn't really unfold the way I expected it to but that's okay!

I liked The Counselors a lot better than this one, and I think it is mostly because I feel like there really wasn’t much that happened for like 80% of this book. We knew at the ball someone had died, but even leading up to it, things were kind of bland. Bernie’s mom missing was the most interesting part of all, to me, and besides Bernie herself, I really didn’t find too many of the characters enjoyable until some of them banded together and did something about their situation.
Was a relatively quick read, but I was hoping that it would grab me more than it did. Just wasn’t a hook in it for me.
