Liane Moriarty is een van mijn favoriete auteurs, maar hoewel dit wel weer een goed verhaal was, zal dit niet mijn favoriete boek worden. Het plot is goed, maar wordt wat langzaam verteld. Het las alsof het in minder pagina's had gekund. Pas de laatste 100 pagina's kwam echt het tempo er weer in dat ik van haar boeken ken. Dat stuk heb ik rechtop en op het puntje van de bank gelezen, want de ontknoping zit absoluut weer ingenieus in elkaar. Ook de manier waarop ze de actualiteit, in dit geval de covid-19-pandemie verwerkt, is goed gedaan. Toen daar in de laatste hoofdstukken over begonnen werd, vroeg ik me in eerste instantie af of dat nodig was, maar het maakte gedrag van personages logisch en de ontknoping realistisch.
Al met al zeker weer van het verhaal genoten, met wat kritiek op het aantal pagina's dat het verhaal kostte.

I’m not quite sure what the whole build up was all about concerning the missing mother. Then the ending was not exactly predictable, but also kind of predictable. I also am confused by the final line of the book. I’ll google it later.
Moriarty's writing is so hard to put down! Funny as all get out but tenderhearted treatment of characters. Her best book ever ❤

Loved it until the last few chapters.The covid chapters were unnecessary and the big reveal at the end felt silly after the wild ride the majority of the book put us through.
