Overall a good family drama. The start was a bit drawn out as I find Liane Moriarty likes to take time to describe her characters in intense detail, and make them all almost stereotypical. You don't find a lot of growth or layering there, she starts out this is x they're like this and then goes from there. The middle bit got quite good and intriguing, was quite a page turner for a while. Then it drifted off to conclusion, and in the end I wasn't 100% sold on all the characters' motivations or actions, and didn't love how everything ended up.

Great book that weaves all of the complicated family dynamics of the relationships between a long term married couple, children, and siblings around a good mystery.

A fun mystery book that explores the complex relationships between family members and the roles they each play.
Pros: the characters, sibling interactions/relationships, initial mystery
Cons: dragged in the middle and end, the ending
Cons: dragged in the middle and end, the ending
I loved this book until the overly sweet ending. The moments when I thought there was going to be a twist and Stan had really killed Joy were shocking. The true ending was boring, easily predictable, and I found it hard to suspend my disbelief for it. Add in the unnecessary mention of covid and I could hardly finish the book.
