Well-written, funny, insightful, excellent character development. I really enjoyed the siblings' interactions and the TENNIS. Who knew I needed a sports book? The audiobook is deliciously narrated by Caroline Lee. Oh those Australian vowels kill me.

This was my first reread of this book because although I am a big Liane Moriarty fan in general, I remember the sensation and emotion I experienced when I finished reading the last pages a few years ago. Although I had mostly remembered the main events, I enjoyed watched the story unfold itself in such a natural yet eventful way, without being too unrealistic or for the sake of moving the plot along. I loved too, reading again the small details of the story, slotting it in the back of my mind, only to be blown away by it appearing again later. It is actually amazing and although I do not know if I think her works are revolutionary or pioneering, Liane is truly a great story teller and I loved reading this book again. I cried on the train reading it.... I love seeing the four distinct siblings interact and lead their own lives as well as unfolding the history of the Delaney's. It was a very satisfying read even though it is long and I hope maybe in a few years time, I will reread it again with the same delight

This book was long but I really loved the honest and reflective look at parent/child relationships as well as marriage. I also was so deeply attached to the characters that I appreciated the end chapters that neatly and perfectly tied up all the loose ends!

When I was about 3/4 through this book I was thinking about my review and thought I’d write. I loved this book, but it could have ended sooner. But THEN… then something happened so totally unexpected and I was so happy it wasn’t over because it was the exact, perfect amount of story. Read this book. You will not regret it.

Quelle bonne surprise !
