I loved this book for its magic realism. It wasn’t a life-changing book, or even super memorable, but I really appreciated the book for how it represented some healthy, female friendship

I went into this book really excited. I loved the concept of the book but I felt like the mystery behind it took a while to get to. I was hoping for it to be more of a mystery but it was hard to read until there was 1/3 left of the book.

What a great read. The pacing and writing are natural and easy to fall into. The author really has a knack at writing realistic teenage characters, especially teenage girls. No cliches and characterizations. I really enjoyed the strong female lead roles as well as the supporting roles. Each character was three-dimensional. What I really enjoyed about this book was the magical realism. I didn't need too much over-explanation of the magic. It was just there and believable in a modern setting and allowed me as a reader to fill in with my own imagination.

Despite the girls in this book having little powers and a bit of paranormal activity, this mostly read like a contemporary book and not a fantasy one.
The atmosphere was so amazing, the characters outstanding! I loved the relationships throughout the book, be it family ties, friendship or love.
This story made me laugh out loud, it made me hastily turn the pages because I was so excited at some parts and just gave me all the feels.

I picked this book up, on a whim, because it looked brand new. I figured I’d give it a try. Although somewhat juvenile, it was such an enjoyable read. A little fantasy, a little romance, a little chaos. In the end, I did guess part of it. But it was still a pretty good read for a 30 year old! I’ve read some other fantasy books recently and those just didn’t grab my focus like this one did!
This was cute! Gave me those warm and fuzzy feelings about people I cherish most in my life!
