Reread after an about a decade after reading the prologue in Endless Summer. This one pulls at the heartstrings, especially as a mama to a daughter. Loved the storyline and mostly happy endings.

Therese Plummer did a great job modulating/changing her voice to sound like the different characters - both female and maleas well as changing the accents!
Elin did not dissapoint with this story. I liked how she started each chapter by referring to "the notebook" as well as how she let you know that the voice was changing to one of the characters (and which one).
Well developed characters as well as their relationships with each other (or the falling apart of a relathionship). This story was not just about the wedding, the bride and the groom but also about different marriages within the 2 families and the families themselves.

All families have drama. That is something I’ve come to really understand over the years. That the “perfect” family is not the norm. That families and relationships are complicated. This story reiterates that. It is also laced with love and respect for relationships lost whether through death, separation or otherwise. The Notebook was an interesting POV. Had I been in the similar situation as Jenna I’m not sure what I would have done with that information. I can see attempting to honor someone’s wishes but to go by them completely without even honoring your own seems bizarre to me. Overall this was an easy read and tied in characters from some of Elin’s other books which was fun to read.
Audiobook- this book was just okay. Nothing really compelling or exciting. It was just a story.
