Beautiful Day

Really sweet story.
Love the Nantucket details added into the wedding.

This wasn't a particularly outstanding novel, but I did get swept up in the story read the entire thing in about 3 hours while sitting on the beach today. I call it a win!

Good, easy pool read.

I have NO IDEA why this took me so long to finish - I guess that's life! This book. This author. Why have I never read anything by her before?!? I like be how the chapters were narrated by different characters, I love how they wandered into the past and back, I love how so much happened over the four days and yet it seemed to all get so neatly tied up. The drama in the book was realistic. I mean, this can be pretty much anyone's family. There's nothing spectacular and yet that makes it even more wonderful. You've got the heroes - the unsung heroes, the villains, the dramatics... everything I wanted in a summer read! Seeing how Elin suggested which if her books I should read next... I'm off to the bookstore!

Great beach/vacation read. Won't win any awards but it won't make you feel like your IQ dropped 10 points by the end of the book.

Hilderbrand's earlier novels were more original with actual character depth, better effort and more thorough editing. Despite her knack for sucking you in, I was left wanting. She might need a new setting for new inspiration.

I loved this book! Checked it out at the library this afternoon and just finished with happy tears! Perfect summer read.

I don’t know why but I’m swooning over Elin Hilderbrand. This is an unusual swoon for me because I’m not really an overly romantic sort and I never really thought I would gravitate to books about weddings. But here I am.

Sometimes maybe I fall in love with characters or stories but here I think it’s a girl crush on Elin’s unique point of view. I’m guessing she might be my age or lived similar circumstances because she writes how I think.

There is always the first floor story going on but then there is this basement level sub story. The reading between the lines she allows or just some wisdom interspersed that allows the reader to think and form opinions. I appreciate that so much as compared to being fed a story or being told how I must think about a character.

A breath of fresh Nantucket air here!

not amazing, but a solid beach read.

I got too drawn out towards the end, I skipped over the final ~30 pages.
