Solid cozy... I find Tonya so damn tiresome. I hope she dies in the next book (I know I'm terrible)

The ending felt rushed and underdeveloped.

As an avid reader and diehard fan of VWW (Auntie Valerie in my head lol) and the Tamera Hayle series. I was initially skeptical about this series due to the first book being such a slow read and Odessa was such a grief-stricken character that it was hard to enjoy/relate to her.

However, this second book was great and reminded me why I love and support this author. I felt that the pace of the story was better than the previous and the world-building and the character development in the first story were nicely set up for the series and the various characters that Odessa interacts with. I've already pre-ordered the next book in this series and I look forward to When Angels Mourn in the Tamera Hayle series.

This was a delightful sophomore installment in this series.
I like how this is developing and look forward to more novels in this series.

An enjoyable cozy that gives a bit more than your average cozy.
The addition of real world issues doesn’t detract from the coziness but rather adds something to the story.

part time real estate agent/caterer Odessa Jones is back. When catering an event goes deadly when the host of the party goes dead, Odessa ends up looking at clues and using her glimmer powers to solve the mystery of who did it.

Now this book did take me a little longer to get into it, but made up for it once I got going good. I enjoyed this cozy mystery and am anticipating the next book in the series.

I received a copy of the book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review of my own thoughts.
