Amazing! The first 20 minutes in, I paused and forced my boyfriend to listen with me. Incredibly thought provoking & I can’t wait to dive into more with a Brené Brown.

I love Brene Brown. This wasnt my favorite work of hers. If you have already done some deep diving around parenting, there will not be a whole lot of new information here. If you have a Neurodivergent or PDA kiddo, much of this wont be helpful. This is a lot of great information on parenting neurotypical kids who respond to traditional respectful parenting approaches.

I have begun to really enjoy this author.
and I particular enjoyed this audio book on parenting - short enough, and also non judgemental.

Quick listen. The parts that I particularly connected with were the shame/guilt distinction (and the extent to which the child's pre-disposition to one or the other affects their choices as they get older), the idea of making home a safe place (and enforcing that kindness between siblings), and the idea that you can't teach your kids to be better at life than you are (so you need to keep growing yourself, and it's okay for them to see that). I could imagine listening to this regularly.

so stinking good. I will absolutely be re-reading this and dragging my husband along for the journey. It was a great first book to read by Brown

Brene Brown is fantastic as usual. She read this audio book so it was so much better hearing it in her own voice. It felt like a conversation instead of a book.

This is basically all the parenting highlights from Daring Greatly. Worth a read/listen once a year!
