This audio is read by Brown as if you were having a conversation with her, which I loved. Her comments on guilt and shame were also illuminating. At just over 2 hours it's definitely worth the listen.

Love everything and anything this woman writes! The first part discusses Guilt vs Shame and how we speak to our children. We'd like them to develop their moral compass and make wise choices, etc. We would like them to feel guilt but the way we come across instead makes them feel shame which is completely different. The second session talks about Privileged vs Entitled, and wow do I need to have that on repeat. Great refresh to the parental spirit right before the school year.

100% recommend for both parents and non parents. Brene gets you to think about your own behavior as a parent and the effects it has on your child / family, as well as the why and how behind the way you were raised. It's short, but powerful.

I love Brené Brown but I gave this 3 ⭐️ because I thought it was actually a book. It sounds more like a Ted Talk submitted as an audiobook. It’s great information and definitely great for parents but it could better be marketed as a podcast than a book.

Not a parent but spend a lot of time with children. It’s important to remember that the biggest role models in a child’s life aren’t on stage, on the field or on the court. They’re in their homes.

In listened to the audio book version of this. At only 2 discs, it’s concise and well worth a listen. Lots of great bits of wisdom in here that all parents would do well to listen to.
