[b:Dirty Sexy Saint|27258517|Dirty Sexy Saint (Dirty Sexy, #1)|Carly Phillips|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1445559704s/27258517.jpg|47308908] by [a:Carly Phillips|10000|Carly Phillips|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1272398243p2/10000.jpg] Is a Contemporary Romance. It is well written and flows easily. You instantly like Samantha and cheer her on, wanting her to prove to herself she can and is more than her pampered life. Clay is the strong, steady, solid type, but with some major commitment issues. The two together bring out the best in both of them.
It was a fun romance and I enjoyed reading it.

I recieved this book for free.
This was an easy, fun read about Clay, a guy with a rough background and the daughter of one of the richest men in Chicago. Clay was an interesting character, but I didn't find myself enjoying Samantha much. She was a bit of a boring character. I am still interrsted in reading the other books in this series, though. 3 stars.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️4 STARS⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Oh how I like surprises like these! I honestly completely forgot I had requested this book to review, and even worse, I had forgotten it was on my kindle for a little while now.
Then one night of insomnia, I was restless trying to find sleep and had just finished a Kristen Ashley reread. And you know how empty you can feel after a great comfort read. Right? The book hangover thing? Yes. That.
So anyway, I got up, grabbed my kindle at one in the morning and started browsing titles. It was then that Clay Kincaid grabbed my eye. "Dirty Sexy Saint" felt like the perfect read to relax before bed.
And boy, how Mister Kincaid delivered. Relaxed? It is not the term I would use to describe the way I felt reading Dirty Sexy Saint.
Turn on, horny, in lust and excited? Yes. All these apply.

Dirty Sexy Saint tells the story of Clay Kincaid, he owns a bar but is known to be a good samaritan. Always helping others in need, he just had a rough upbringing and was given a helping hand many years before and feels like it’s his duty or his way to pay forward now.
One night stumbles in his bar, young, clueless and lost Samantha Jamieson. Her behavior and look scream trouble but Clay cannot turn off his basic need to help lost souls, nor can he explains why he feels drawn to this young woman.
Samantha, drunk and with no place to go, is going to benefit more than Saint Clay’s helping hand.
I really enjoyed the chemistry between Clay and Samantha, and when at first I thought I would hate the heroine, I ended up loving her. She comes from a rich family and basically never accomplished anything in her life, so I expected her to stay the perfect clueless girl that stumbled in Clay’s bar that night. But not at all. She grew up a pair of lady balls, and cleaned up her act.
Clay Kincaid was your typical sexy and confident alpha male, he has a bit of mystery surrounding him and you can tell right off the bat he is a tormented soul.

As I said the chemistry between them both was palpable and I enjoyed the chase and the banter. Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde made a really great job with a ‘hate-to-love-you’ trope, and turned up the heat hundreds of levels UP with some smoking hot sex scenes. If you enjoy a bit of dirty talk in your steamy reads, then rest assured they got this particular side covered in spades.
All in all, Dirty Sexy Saint was the perfect easy and sexy read, it delivered a good plot and solid characters with good honest chemistry and feelings. I cannot wait for book 2 in this series, as we were introduced to Clay’s two other brothers, one being a tattoo artist with man-whores ways, the second—younger one, being a cop on top of a great serious guy.

Where to even begin with this book. I was expecting (based on the title) something which was filled with over the top drama, angst, grit, dirty talk and filthy sex. Instead I got a wonderful, brave heroine and a truly great hero, both of whom I fell madly in love with. This book gave me excitement, wonder and joy to read. It touched my heart in so many ways and made me a huge fan of the series.
Let's start with Samantha. I have never met a heroine where I've fallen head over heels in love with her within the opening chapter of the book and kept on loving her right to the very end. Samantha was like a beautiful bird in a gilded cage, trapped and dissatisfied. Instead of waiting to be rescued and set free, she did it herself. She ripped open the doors of her cage and took flight. I wondered throughout the story if she was at some points too good to be true, but she wasn't. She was sweet, caring, compassionate, albeit very naive and innocent since she had been sheltered and protected her whole life. But she was brave. And she fought for a life she wanted, and she fought for the man she wanted. I loved that about Samantha. She was a fighter and she did what she could to make a life for herself and to be her own person. That takes courage. I've been on the receiving end of some of the threats she faced at the beginning of the book, and let me tell you, it's terrifying. Granted, I was sixteen at the time and she's twenty six in the story, but still, it's a terrifying feeling to be completely cut of from everything you know. And ultimately, Samantha is selfless. She was willing to sacrifice everything for the man she loved, even to the extent of living the rest of her life in a life not of her own choosing. The depth of her selflessness truly moved me.
And how do you describe Clay. Saint Clay. Who's the good guy. The responsible one. The one who rescues stray kittens, damaged war vets and damsels in distress. He's rough around the edges, raw, honest, filled with deep, terrible secrets that torture his soul and yet caring enough to take in those less fortunate than himself. I don't think Clay is altruistic by any means, but he does have a heart of gold. He's just your all round good guy with a damaged heart and I love that he finds light, sweetness and laughter with Samantha. I love the two sides of Clay, the good guy who rescues people in need and the edgy, dominant man behind closed doors. Psst, Clay ... you can dominate me anytime!
I think that made this book so great was the fact that it was written by two tremendous authors. I had seen Ms Phillips and Ms Wilde's name around the romance traps before but have never read any of their books. The writing is excellent. It's engaging without being to heavy, emotional and touching, intense enough at moments to bring a tear or two to my eyes and yet not so dark that it overwhelmed me.
What a great start to the series. I can't wait to read the other books featuring Clay's other brothers, Mason and Levi.

2.5 stars. They story was okay, though insanely predictable. The characters were likable. The dialogue felt old-fashioned enough that it was noticable and inauthentic.
