By the end of the book, they’ve both said the L word. So, I disagree with the author statement. I don’t believe he’s a true psychopath. He is intriguing enough to make me finish the book, and I found him much more endearing than the FMC (I’m not sure what that says about my own mental state!).
It’s an easy, relatively quick KU read. Entertaining, with some decent and dark spice, but I wouldn’t say the spice is majorly taboo. There’s a bit of non-con, some spanking, hand necklaces, but nothing that shocked me.
The characters are likeable enough despite - or because of - their flaws, and I liked that he made up with his family at the end and that Glyndon came into her own because of Killian.

-authors of dark romance desperately need to research what cnc is because this is not it. it's noncom (maybe dubcon but I disagree); either way it's SA
-also you can't feel a hymen.
I don't think I've ever read Rina Kent but I don't plan on trying any of her other books. similar to h.d. carlton's haunting adeline--absolute garbage

I definitely loved the trigger/content warnings in the beginning (as well as my friend's warnings). It helped me make sure that I was in the right mind space for this. Definitely don't skip it. This book is full of non consent. It's almost exclusively the only kind of sex Killian and Glyn partake in and it almost becomes consensual non consent....sans the conversation.
Overall this book is alright. It's about Glyn, a girl that is incredibly depressed and struggling with her friend's suicide that happened in front of her. She ends up blaming her rival school's secret society the Heathens and tries to find out more information because she thinks their initiation is what sent her friend over the edge. This is the plot of the book.
Ninety-five percent ends up being her and Killian, a psychopath in the Heathens. He becomes fixated on her and decides they're together. Stalker tendencies, manipulative, violent... They continuously have the same conversation.
There was a twist I hadn't seen coming that could set up the plot and tensions for the rest of the series. Each of the books follows a different Heathen and different Elite/Elite adjacent and I just want more Creighton and Bran. I couldn't understand for the life of me how NO ONE noticed the tension between Bran and Nikolai.

The author of the book did an excellent job in portraying the character of Killian as a psychopath, which was evident from the start of the book. The author's writing skills deserve appreciation for selling it so well.
However, there was a plot twist involving Devlin that left me furious.
The book had many characters, which made it a bit confusing to keep track of them all. Thankfully, the book came with a family chart, which helped me follow the plot.
Overall, the book had enough plot and character development, making it a bearable read. However, the book could have been shorter than its 400 pages.

At the heart of the story is the transformative relationship between Glyndon and Killian. The narrative delves into the depths of their connection, exploring how Glyndon's reserved demeanor seemingly tames the enigmatic Killian while he, in turn, encourages her to break free from her shell. The characters evolve throughout the novel, each bringing out the best in the other.
One notable aspect of the book is the incorporation of multiple perspectives, offering a comprehensive view of the characters and their backgrounds. We not only witness Glyndon and Killian's perspectives but also gain insights into the thoughts of Killian's parents, adding depth to the narrative.
The highs and lows of Glyndon and Killian's relationship are vividly portrayed, both emotionally and physically, making it a rollercoaster of passion and intensity. The author fearlessly explores intimate moments, creating a story that is undeniably spicy yet still rooted in a substantial plot.
One commendable aspect is the unexpected twist revealed toward the end of the book. I didn't anticipate it, and this element added an extra layer of intrigue to the overall narrative. The text showcases the author's ability to keep readers on their toes, preventing predictability in the plot.
However, it's crucial to mention that "God of Malice" comes with several trigger warnings. The narrative explores intense and sensitive topics, so readers should be mindful and review the content warnings to ensure they are comfortable with the themes presented.
In conclusion, Rina Kent's "God of Malice" is a passionate and unpredictable exploration of the complexities of love, transformation, and the revelation of secrets. While the spicy elements are prominent, the book successfully intertwines them with a compelling plot, making it a worthwhile read for those who enjoy a dark romance with a touch of mystery.
