This is literally one of the worst books I have ever read in my life. I only finished it hoping it would get better but no such luck. It was just horrible and perpetuated horrible stereotypes. I gave it one star cause it’s the lowest it goes. If you’re curious, find it online. Not worth the money.
I knew things were going to be different for these
two. They both had that type of personality and
their chemistry was undeniable. The guys/hotholes in
all her books/series are a bit or somewhat damaged, big-time
a**holes, but always redeemable and with big hearts.
This was definitely intense, and put me through a rollercoaster
ride, but it was so worth it

Oh so good
Oh so wow! Let me start out by saying that I have tried to pick up some of the All Saints High books in the past, but just can't get past half of any of these books because of just there age and immaturity that all high schoolers have. It has nothing to do with LJ Shen or her writing I just HATE High School/Early College books with a passion. But I have to say this is absolutely spot on in these books! I personally haven't experienced half the shit these people did in high school since I don't have Spencer money, but I am pretty sure someone out there has. Anyways there has always been one thing that had intrigued me and that was Vaughn Spencer AND WOWWWWW LJ Sheen did NOT disappoint.
I did listen to the audiobook this time and almost quit due to Vaughn's moody ass, but I stuck with it and even cried a little. And even though I am a little uncomfortable (i guess??) with their ages there are certain things that make you grow and mature faster than others. I am so happy I finished this and was blessed with the story of Vaughn and Len.

I read this for the Romance read challenge of February.
I should have picked something lighter and sweeter.
This book wants to be edgy so bad it lost it all in the process, and the ending has complete shift in characters which contributes to the inconsistency element. I don’t even know why I started listing issues like it’s an actual critical review.
Overall, I like the writing style, it keeps you hooked even when the storyline disappoints you.
Two stars for making me finish it.
Hey, Shen, is this wish fulfillment thingy?
...Probably.

I have never experienced a character quite like Vaughn well other than his dad Vicious. I realized why Vaughn acts the way he does and it is understandable. I felt like I knew the reason behind early on but did not know when it started and when he told his story to Lenny I broke for the boy who lost his childhood.
I listened to this and although I did enjoy it I did not like the English accent. There were parts that bugged me as someone who was born and raised there for 18 years. I got past this because I enjoyed the story and I was happy that Lenny was on Vaughn’s side to post the signs around the school that made me smile.
I loved that Vicious came to help his boy because he found out what happened and dealt with it like he does so his family can be safe. I gave this book 4 ⭐️ and 2 🌶️ this couple had a lot of chemistry and the voyerism they both experienced was hot but when Vaughn realized she was the only person he would have sex with that made it even more intense.
I recommend this if you like a tortured artist and 2 grumpy main characters that bring out a little sunshine in each other.
Happy reading everyone 📚
3/5⭐️
I’m really struggling to give this book a fair rating. I loved the opening scene, but then I think, for the first 250-ish pages it was rough. The whole pretentious high school emo thing was a little much. It just made me feel yucky. To be fair though, was entertained when I wasn’t questioning my morals— what more can you ask a book for!
What ultimately saved this book from being two stars for me was the final couple hundred pages (from 60% onward). Which to be fair is a good chunk of the book. For me, the characters were just unlikeable and I didn’t see how they could be redeemed for me. Boy, was I wrong though. Both, Lenora, and especially Vaughn were surprisingly very easy to understand by the end. I felt raw love and incredible connection between both them, and many other characters previously painted a villainous and shallow.
I think L.J. Shen did great keeping this book consistent and plot focused overall. Which I always appreciate. I cried like a baby, and actually felt very connected with this story by the end.
So while it’s still teetering on an edge for me, it is a good read that’s worth the pick up. (there are sensitive topics mentioned, so please look those up if you choose to pick this up!)
