I don't know exactly how or where to start this review? How many times can you write a review that praises an author who takes an unlikable character and makes them not only readable but you want for them? I can't figure out how Ms. Shen does it?

I have toggled between 4 and 5 star rating for about a day and half now. Physically and emotionally. Here is why for ME...I loved the damaged soul that was Vaughn, and his target for evil was just as likable, but connecting with them didn't FULLY happen for me for quite sometime. I think the constant back and forth and the not knowing each other completely took it's toll on ME as a reader. I don't know if that makes sense? But when they finally totally knew what and where each other was coming from and had gone through to get to where they are I was finally SOLD. This happened late so 4.5 is where I land.

LJ Shen always deliver, totally slays the bully/lovable character and as always I can not wait for the next installment. Or really any words from her. The darkness in this one is SOLID and will keep you ensnared and victim to it's push and pull from beginning to end. As I near the end of this review I am ONCE again changing my rating. Good lord. The struggle is REAL. Anywho...read this book and all of her others. The end.

While this wasn't my favourite in this series despite my initial thoughts that it would be, I can't deny I really was entertained by this.

There are certain parts of the dynamic between Lenny and Vaughn that certainly echo the relationship between Baron and Emilia.

This wasn't as dark as I was hoping/expecting it to be and while there might be some parts that could be considered such and might even be triggering, Angry God was almost everything I hoped it would be.

I didn't cry like in Broken Knight and I didn't wanna strangle either of the couple like I did in Pretty Reckless. I am going to miss the gang from Todos Santos. That's for dang sure.

I’m honestly having a hard time putting into words how this book made me feel. It’s been about two years since I read Broken Knight. I had forgotten how much drama surrounded the ASH. But atlas I couldn’t quit reading. I will admit this book was a bit over the top for me. To much hatred. To much drama. But it was still a good book. There are some twists and turns and oh my goodness moments. Some aspects I wish hadn’t happened. But you needed to read about it to understand why Vaughn was the way he was. Lenora had a rough time as well growing up. I’m so glad her and Vaughn we able to save each other. I loved the ending.

I listened to this book on audible and i actually really liked it despite how cringey the dialogue was.

When you start this series you are chomping at the bit to get to Vaughn’s story and it delivered. We love a dark knight (not just of the Cole verity) and Vaughn was just top tier.
