This is the third book in the All Saints High series and it was all about Vaughn. He’s my favourite. While the author tried to put so many needless twists and turns in the story that the reader will definitely lose patience, the story was better than the other two and it touched on a difficult subject as child sexual abuse. Vaughn always had this mysterious aura around him, this enigmatic personality and icy appearance, everyone thought he’s invincible. No one ever suspected for once that he might have had an agonizing past; well, until Lenora came, and Vaughn’s first impression towards her was hatred. He later described the reason in a letter to her ‘hate is nature’s most flawless drive…I hated you because I had to feel something for you’. Well, then the story began.
Hopefully this was the last ljshen book I’ve read and I have so many things to say-
Reading broadens our imagination, I read, and I imagine. That’s the best and quality time of my life, but if you are an author and spell out everything that’s happening in your protagonist’s life starting from the first kiss to the proposal, wedding and babies, what am I going to do with my imagination? Not to mention that it bored me to death to continue reading until the last page as the epilogue was completely unnecessary.
I wanted to ask this to the author, but alas, she has blocked me on Instagram after I gave a negative review about Pretty Reckless

I've read a lot of L.J. Shen's books and this one was probably one of the hardest to take in. The subject matter was heavy, but well written.
Lenora (Lenny) and Vaughn have known of each other since they were 12 and 13 years old, attending Carlisle Prep in Great Britian. After an accidental encounter, they loathe each other. Five years later they're reconnected in Todos Santos. They still dislike each other, but for very different reasons.
I've said it in previous reviews of Shen's books and I'll say it again. Vicious is one of my favorites books. Vaughn is the son of Vicious so I was thrilled to see his character in this book. I also thoroughly enjoyed his POV while reading this book as well. Vicious being just that, for his son, was the icing on the cake for me. If you enjoyed the Sinners of Saints series, you'll enjoy this book and series.
Amazing! Vaughn story is really heartbreaking. Amazing book, but not as good as broken knight
4.5 stars!
A haunting, enemies to lovers story that’s sure to break hearts! At first I was a little annoyed by how whiney and woe-is-me Vaughn came off as. By the end, my heart was left slowly bleeding out for his character! His past was so tragic and crippling. It’s no wonder he was so misunderstood and closed off. I just wished he would have told someone instead of shouldering the burden all alone.
I thoroughly enjoyed the electricity and banter between Vaughn and Lenora. Their hate/love for each other was always a balancing act, on the thinnest of wires. Every jab, every push, every pull, every encounter was so invigorating! It was so nice to see Vaughn meet his match.
This was probably the cruelest ASH book in the series. The lengths that petty high schoolers went to bring down any threat to their hierarchy was unnerving. They were all catty and vile, the girls especially! I gasped out loud numerous times at the games they played and the way they assaulted those who they felt were beneath them. I wanted nothing more than to see karma sink her claws into their entitled and pathetic existences. Arabella most of all!
The slow progression of feelings that bloomed throughout the novel kept everything flowing at a really good pace. I never felt bored or like there was too much filler. Everything in this story had a purpose and a place. Each encounter, every gut wrenching scene. All the way to the end.
My only issue with the book was the constant insinuation of something dark and volatile having had happened to Vaughn, causing him to be so cruel and jaded. His “secret” that wasn’t much of a secret to the readers based on how often it was referenced and eluded to. I felt like a lot of the mystery was ruined by just how much of a main character his “secret” became. The only shock was that for years, Lenny had been keeping Vaughn’s encounter to herself but didn’t even know what truly happened in the dark room. Her assumption and the truth were not aligned.
I also really wished every book in this series didn’t end in babies, but what can you do?

DNF'd at 40%. I couldn't finish this cluster fuck.

This book was about Vaugn (Vicious's son!!!), and I was so excited to find out he was exactly like his dad. Vicious was a mean guy, but he was still likable as a character. I just could not find that same justification for Vaugn as I kept reading.
He was creepy and weird. In a slimey get away from me kind of way.
I did like Lenny a lot though. She freaking stood up for herself and was a boss ass bitch.

Their relationship was just not believable enough. And I was really not into the blood play. (Which is crazy cuz I eat up any story with vampires, but for some reason this shit grossed me out).
One HIGHLIGHT was actually seeing Vicious again. He became even more lovable to me after seeing how he is as a dad :')
Overall, I just feel like this was a bootleg version of Vicious (the book) with a lackluster hero.

I have to admit, I understand why people have problems with L.J.Shen's books. There are some issues with some of them that a lady of the 21th century might have problems with - I do. However, this woman is my guilty pleasure.
I was counting the days until Angry God was published. Counting in my head "T minus 4; T minus 2; TOMORROW!".
It does not disappoint.
