Angry God was a beautiful masterpiece, the audiobook was very good narrated and the story is one that you will keep forever. LJ Shen did an amazing story for these two, I loved the way she managed to tell the story with all the twists and things that happened in the story. A remarkable read.

This is up there with The Kiss Thief as my favourite LJ Shen book.

Vaughn in my opinion, is an even more interesting character than his father Vicious. There are times you will want to hate him, but you cannot bring yourself to do so, because you know there is so much more to his story than whats on the surface.

The love/hate relationship between Vaughn and Lenny is similar to his parents Vicious and Emilia's origin story. However there are so many more layers to their relationship, more genuine reasons to dislike each other and more things in common than they would like to admit.

There are so many great reveals and twists throughout this story. The reader thinks they are heading in one direction and then they are pulled off in another. It's fantastic seeing Vicious as a father, and being treated to some things from his perspective.

Vaughn and Lennys, love/hate story spans years and continents. It's the definition of epic love. It changes them both in ways I don't think either expected.

A definite 5 star read. LJ Shen continues to blow me away with her characters.

YOU GUYS!!!! I AM SO FREAKING BUMMED! THIS WAS NOT HOW I WAS SUPPOSED TO REACT TO THIS BOOK!

When I knew Vaughn Spencer was getting his book I was over the moon! I mean, this is Vicious and Millie's kid! It's my main OPTs kid, of course, I was stoked to read this book!

I wish I could say that I loved this book but I can't. The last 30% of the book was my favourite but the start and middle was something I couldn't deal with, that's my hangup, and Vaughn and Lenora weren't someone that I warmed up to. I had so many hopes from this book, the characters and the story and it is so unfortunate that it just didn't meet the expectations.

I couldn't connect with either Lenora or Vaughn and that was one of my major issues.

Lenora and Vaughn evoked a sense of sympathy in me for them even though I couldn't get over some of the things that Vaughn did. I can't say I understood him or why he went about doing things the way he did in the first half of the book.

Vaughn is complex and I believe he is the first L.J. Shen character where I have no urge to dissect his psyche or what his thought process is. Imma be far away from that head, yo.

Despite my lack of connection and not loving the story the I had hoped to, there were a few parts that were my absolute favourite! Vaughn's letter to Lenora... Gosh, this was the most unexpected thing in the world and I just couldn't get over how beautifully penned down that was.
Vicious and Emilia's point of view was so so so good! I especially loved Millie's point of view and that was what broke me. I also LOVED seeing Vicious as a dad and I wish I could have had a little more of that.

One of the things that I loved about the All Saints Hight as a series is a glimpse into the parents' point of view. Those chapters just added the extra oomph and gave us the much-needed insight into the situations through a parents' perspective.
To see Vicious and Emilia, Jamie and Melody, Dean and Rosie and Trent and Edie be parents and watch their kids was something special for me.

If a bully romance if your thing, a romance that goes to the extremes then you are in the right place!

PS. I just feel I need to add trigger warnings. If you don't like them, you can skip and if you do, just click the 'view spoiler'!

“Because my dad told me good girls like bad boys, and I’m bad. Really bad.”

This was so beautifully written and just like the others it ripped my heart out. Not as much as Broken Knight, but it still broke my heart.

Vaughn is a messed up person. He has a messed up past. He doesn’t feel for anyone. Until Lenora, and it confuses him. He doesn’t understand what he is feeling. He doesn’t understand why for once, he can’t control his hard on.

*Spoiler* Something I love about both Knight and Vaughn, LJ Shen didn’t make them to be manwhores like their fathers. I know Vaughn is knows for his public blow jobs but he is a VIRGIN. Just like Knight was.

This was a dark romance novel! There are some very sensitive subjects in this book.

If you've read the previous books in the series, you might be tempted to complete the current collection, but I've got to tell you - you could probably skip it and be just fine.

When we first met Vaughn Spencer he was aloof, violent, and cruel. If you were into that, then you'll be very pleased to know that he continues to be a dick the entirety of this book.

Angry God attempts to explain WHY he's a dick, and I've got to say, doesn't do a great job.

Vaughn Spencer and Lenora Astalis share history and a secret that shapes their entire personalities. They hate each other and they have a perfect opportunity to express their disdain when Lenora transfers to his school to join her sister Poppy (remember her?) senior year.

Vaughn doesn't know how to have a regular conversation and manage his own feelings despite his wealth and resources and access to great mental healthcare so he is a relentlessly cruel manipulative asshole the entire time. Lenora used to be a wallflower push over, but then she dyed her hair black, and started wearing dark eyeliner and lip rings and ... continued to be the type of person to let people bully her, albeit with a little bit more sass and cutting comebacks. I'm not understanding how or why I'm expected to like either of these two.

Once the big reveal happens we're supposed to understand (and excuse) why he was a misogynistic piece of trash to the girl he loved, and why she would just accept and understand it - both the original behavior and the subsequent gestures (cuz, what's an apology?)

These were some of the most ridiculous portrayals of teenage girls I've ever seen in my life.
Does L.J. even know any teenagers?

Also - Trigger warnings galore for this book. CSA, self harming, drug use, etc...

I only read this book because my friend told me to for one character. Lenora, which I do love her because she doesn't take shit from anyone but overall I didn't really like this book, it was meh I guess. It was better than the first two books though.
