I enjoyed this book a lot, but it definitely has some problems. I really enjoyed the setting, the idea of the book, the main female and male characters, and the romance between them. However, a lot of stuff was pretty predictable. I don’t actually have a problem with that, but I know some readers do. I also found that some plot points happened to easily or too quickly. A good portion of the book felt rushed or like I was getting whiplash because so many things were happening so fast with little explanation. A big event would happen but would be over in two pages. Again, I didn’t really mind any of that too much, but it did take away from the reading experience enough for me to give it a 3.5 star rating. I would recommend it for a quick and light read though. Definitely plan to read the sequel!

Very disappointing.  You do get pirates of the Caribbean vibes and I like the siren component. But the writing is juvenile, the characters flat, and I hate the trope that pops up at the end. Completely unnecessary and not possible on the timelines. I won’t be continuing the series

DID NOT FINISH: 10%

It's essentially the plot of Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl. And the plot twist is so obvious.

This was a fun, easy read but the stakes are very high throughout the book. It is incredibly cheesy and predi table in (mostly) the best way possible. I was ready to give this 5 stars until the last 50 or so pages. Spoilers ahead for more details.

I love the plot twist that she is a siren. Should've seen it coming but definitely didn't.

I was incredibly disappointed that this turned into a pregnancy trope. I would've loved for them to be swashbuckling pirates together, but I don't see how a baby fits into the mix. I guess I could stick around and see but 🤷‍♀️ doubt it.

I read it. I didn't love it..I did finish it though. I like a good trope, but this felt very tropey with unnecessary things happening for the sake of Tropes.
