At first, the story didn’t seem so bad, but then it became predictable. Oh you hate him, but then you love him, then hate him again, then tolerate him. Then you run away. And gets rescued. To run away again. To getting rescue. He kills men to protect you. You get mad that he killed someone to save you.

Then the Prince is coming for you, even though you don’t want to go with him, but you also do. Then he dies. Oh wait. He doesn’t. He magically made it out of the ship wreckage. The only one. Then you work together with the Captain to form this plan for everyone to be happy. Somewhere along there Georgette realizes the Prince and Captain are brothers. The captain returns all the stolen treasure, the prince gets to capture or kill pirates, and Georgette gets to go see her mom. Isis. The siren queen because georgettes a siren. I mean you can’t have a pirate book without sirens. Then the captain dies, the Prince takes her away. She goes home to see her dad. Well dads dead because a poorly written suicide had to be put in. Then Georgettes nauseous. Obviously since she just found her dad dead right? Wrong. She’s bloated and has missed her cycle for a couple months. So what does she do? Run to the Prince who’s like hey let’s get married. She’s like ok. Wedding day. Surprise. Captains alive. Shocker again. How are you alive? The tears of a siren. Like hun if you would’ve stayed with him instead of being swept away, you would’ve know. The Prince: I’m marrying her. The captain: you’re not marrying my wife unless I’m dead. The Prince: bet. Whips out a sword. Georgette: I’m with child.

I stopped reading after that.

It was gonna be a 2 star read, but after the random suicide thrown in, pregnancy trope, hey I’m alive again x2, and trying to marry your husbands brother, I had to give it a 1 star.

A very easy read with a plotline you‘ll discover within the first thirty pages. Though, I had summit fever and sadly I do have a weird need of finishing a book, no matter how bad it is.

DNF'd at page 149. This started out fun and fascinating, but by chapter 18, there were simply too many big plot holes to continue. I really wanted to like this book.

This book fit the mood I was in
