Oh my gosh these two. My heart ached for them while they tried to figure it all out. I love stories with a long-term couple who have to go back and put in some work to make their HEA keep going / get back on track. I think the themes in this one are applicable no matter the gender of the couple. The part about not losing yourself in order to be part of a couple or family really resonated with me.

I struggle with second chance/marriage in trouble when MC’s aren’t in their early 20’s. Like go to therapy, you’re a grown up before you break up maybe? I wanted to like this so much but it’s little things. Like you suddenly after 2 years realize your job takes you for granted? Or you just realized that your husband is stressed about how he’d pay bills without his job? Like how do you have two children and can’t have a conversation? Biggest thing though is the primary parent is always yelling at the kids and getting frustrated they’re acting like children but the parent who’s gone 50% of the time reads parenting books and is cool as a cucumber 24/7? It just didn’t track.

This book is one big miscommunication trope with. Weird group chat and some plot holes
meh. this was fine. i think it would have benefited from less Banter. it was actually a second chance i can get behind, so i know at least some of it was well written? i wish literally everyone in this series was less immature though
