first of all, i don’t know why i was rooting for a happy ending in a book about the FALL of SATAN. i’m a fool. good thing: the sequel is coming out SOON!!!

this is making me redefine “babygirl.” my obvious choice for BGOTB is lucifer. he’s baby, he’s bad, what more could you want?? however. the Baby Girl of the Book award is being given to rosier. angel of fruit and angel of baby girl. maybe the only one here who does no wrong.

what a hollowing, brutal, and beautiful book.

“the truth that we can be more, without him.”

this retelling of the fall of Lucifer really took me apart - and i think will really hook itself into anyone who has left evangelical christianity.

it was grotesque and lovely throughout, and the prose was so lush and poetic.

i am excited to read the second one, but gonna need some time to recover mentally and emotionally.

i've been wanting to read this for more than two years now and i'm soooo glad it delivered as much as the high expectations i had for it! the writing is absolutely insane to read but the narrative is even more impressive because of the smooth shift from naive tone to this just crazy feeling that we experience from lucifer

intense, graphic and deep passionate love will always get me, romantically, platonically and apparently religiously? despite not being religious? i will eat up the rest of the series and will be patiently waiting for the third book to come out
