Felt like I shouldn’t be reading this but I couldn’t put it down.
Not for the faint of heart.

Maybe I had incredibly high expectations.

At the same time though...I adore this book.

This was such an interesting read. It is not 5 stars only because sometimes the narrative was a little too much for me, but it broke my heart nonetheless.

“Devour me like a pomegranate and stain your tongue.”

I have been sitting here on my bed, speechless, trying to form coherent thoughts to write this review. Normally, when I loved a book with all my soul, I can do nothing but talk about it. But with Angels Before Man, it robbed my words, my tongue, my very thoughts from me. I can not properly tell you how much this book meant to me. How it’s beautiful metaphors, flowery prose, and sickly sweet divinity changed me. I too, changed with Lucifer, I had my own metamorphosis while reading this book. Every emotion was portrayed so vividly that I felt it in my own flesh. The love, betrayal, blood-thirsty revenge, the heartbreak, even insanity. Each page, paragraph, sentence, and word was placed so intentionally and perfectly that I could not help but fall in love. It’s language cut into my skin, left vivid marks across my back, cut so deeply it will stay with me forever. A surgery would not be able to remove how deeply it is ingrained into my flesh and organs. Just like the quote, I devoured this book, let it stain my tongue and mind for eternity.

Hoooolyyyy fucking shit this was so fucking good.
