3.5 stars rounded up. i’ve never read a book with such story potential and beautiful prose whose execution fell so flat. this needed to be another 100 pages at least. ava was really just there for everyone’s conveniences and didn’t get to be her own character. and the last third of the book was way too rushed and convenient. but the world building could have been something really special.

A beautiful indictment of white corporate feminism. I loved it. This book will leave you thinking for a long time. My only snark is that the ending was kind of rushed and anticlimactic. But I adored the first 90% of the book!

I love the concept of this book even though it scares me. dystopia and I have a strange relationship, especially when the earth is deemed unlivable in 2050. the plot challenges cishet white woman feminism and really lays out the “what if?” of the ideology. I wanted more from the characters and THE END PLEASE but the concept got me so good it’s four stars
