This is really a strange read. I could feel the themes and author’s points just below the surface. But the surreal story and writing style kept me disconnected and somewhat numb to the bigger points. I think that’s actually a good thing: this didn’t need to be a pious, earnest, lecture - I think it probably benefits from, at least for me, a very unique style. I’m not sure I liked it as such, but I’m very glad I read it. And I very much agree with other reviewers that it made me wish to be part of a reading group to discuss the book with.

This is more than a book, it’s a call to action. It shines a piercing light on social moral norms and leaves you questioning, reevaluating and contemplating those assumptions, all without asking you to do so. As relevant today as when it was first written.
