I had really high expectations for this book. I thought it was incredibly slow and only started to pick up around the 200-page mark. From there, it got quite a bit better. I did find that I was annoyed at times because there were some painfully obvious things that Poppy took way too long to figure out. If you don't try to compare it to other series (ACOTAR for me specifically), it's pretty good. I'm looking forward to reading the rest.
