My girls loved this one. I thought it was a fun read, although the plot could have been a but tighter. I'm sure there are more of these in my future as the girls are already clambering for the sequel.

This book is part fantsy, part magic, part friendship

The Frog Princess was my favourite book as a child and what inspired my own love for writing. The mixture of flawed protagonists, magic and the right dash of romance was enough to delight my young mind over the next few books in the series. For those coming from the Disney movie, just keep in mind that they're totally different, the Disney movie is simply based on the premise of a girl turning into a frog when she kisses a frog prince. A great read for any young girl!

MAKE YOUR DAUGHTER READ THIS BOOK
When I was 13 and going through those terribly awkward years this book changed my life. The entire series helped me fall in love with reading by showing me a clumsy, awkward, hilarious Princess Emerelda and her Prince Eadric. (Would naming my future daughter Emerelda be too much? Maybe.) From then on, these books made me believe in magic in the most wonderful and uplifting way.
Now I sit, actually rereading them almost eight years later and I am still desperately in love with this wonderful fantasy land. Do yourself a favor, and make your children read these books.

More like 3.5.

Cute and for only .99 (via amazon) a good read that I'm happy to pass along to my fairy tale loving 11 year old. It's a series too and while I'm not enamored enough to read on, she may be.

I liked this most of the time, but there were moments when I had to make myself listen on. Why? Maybe I did not care enough? I mean it was clear from the beginning that it all would turn out ok. It is a children's book and a fairy tale. Sometimes it seemed a lot of trouble to get to that happy ending.

I liked the characters, animal and human, and I liked how the princess did grow more self assured through her many adventures. As another reviewer mentioned it is sweet how the frog prince wants to protect the princess, but always is asleep when she needs him. And it is great that the princess and the prince are less than perfect, inside and out.

Everybody is very likeable, even the snake, and especially the bat. The animals, even the real ones, do not act like animals most of the time. But it IS a fairy tale, not a documentary, so if I ignored my inner adult I was able to enjoy the ride. And there were many funny moments, even some laugh out loud ones.

I did not realise that this is the first part of a series! I am not sure of I will continue, but it is quite possible.

I love this book since I was little so I can't give it less than five stars, even with the little things that annoy me.
I'm guessing this is E. D. Baker's first book (or one of the first ones) because of the speed of the plot. Hm, not sure about how to explain this. But the rhythm of the story is really quick, without a big development or explanations. It reminds me of my first stories. Nothing wrong with that, just pointing out my thoughts about it.
It's always a pleasure to read it again.
