This was my first Miss Marple Mystery and I loved it so much! The atmosphere and writing are unmatched

This was my first Agatha Christie book, and I'm wishing I'd picked one earlier in the series (world?). A lot of the character references felt like callbacks rather than introductions, so I felt like I was playing catch up fairly often. That being said, I am now in love with Miss Marple, and I will absolutely be finding more at the local library. I probably won't reread this, but I absolutely enjoyed the book cover to cover.

From all Agatha Christie books that I have read that's the only one that I own. I don't remember what happened but I remember that it wasn't my favorite.

Such a beautiful start of a novel. it felt like visiting an old friend after years and catching up. Who doesn't love a little bit of nostalgia? Even if there weren't any murder or mystery I would've kept reading.

But considering that it is a Christie novel mystery and murder came knocking. An immersive and fast-paced experience that you dive right into and finish in one sitting. The curve balls you expect, do come and leave you amazed. It's a good read.

3.5 ⭐️

Despite knowing from the get go who the killer was (owing only to my long history of watching the film adaptations) I actually still thoroughly enjoyed reading this - which I was not expecting.
This was meant to be one of those books you read just for the sake of saying you’ve read it, rather than actually wanting to know the story. But going along I was really feeling content reading this and found it almost strangely comforting (though that may be because this was one of the first Miss Marple’s I had ever seen).
Pleasant and interesting with added twists that never made it to the screen.
