Last night I finished another book, in which one of my favorite characters is always reminded for saying "I choose neither". I loved her for that. Then, this morning I started reading "Flower Crowns and Fearsome Things", and I felt like the universe was trying to tell me something. On the author's note, she says: "Remember: there is no need to choose one or the other". So... I might need a while to process what this means to me. Thank you.
I love her poetry and I totally agree with her ideas. This was a great read! The only reason I'm not giving it more stars is because I'm taking into consideration how I rated her previous books and how I feel about them. But I definitely recommend it.

I always love Amanda Lovelace’s poetry, this book was no exception. Her words made me want to VIOLENTLY love myself no matter what. I simultaneously wanted to punch everyone who has ever wronged me and also move on and be happy without them. This book alternated perfectly between soft feelings and blind rage.

Another solid collection from Amanda Lovelace. This was not my favorite work of hers, however I can appreciate it and the beauty of the book itself. The illustrations were gorgeous and I’m glad I purchased this to add to my collection.
So very disapointed.
Amanda Lovelace for me is always a hit, but this time I felt like her book was rushed (it was indeed shorter than her others). Not only that but most of the poems were too simple, too simplistic, too superficial. I expected to read them on Instagram "you go girl" pages - and imediately forget about them. She tried to talk about abuse and sexism and hurt in a very poor and childish way, very unlike her other pieces. It truly felt like a Pick me, I'm different than other girls, privileged, all american white pumpkin lattes kinda girl sharing her diary.
