I was genuinely worried that this follow up would not be as good as The Butterfly Garden. I was incorrect and thank god for that! At first I was worried Priya's character would be used to up the stakes for Eddison, and make the story about him. I'm glad I was wrong. I liked the fact that the perspectives were split once more, and enjoyed the perspective of the killer. A more in depth review will go up on my blog I promise!

A follow up book in a series is always the hardest one specially if this follows up The Butterfly Garden.

It was a slow burn at first, picked up in the second half and it kind of felt flat at the end as I had already figured out who the killer was in this book. I can see the trend of flowers and it is a great follow up story but lacked the intensity of The Butterfly Garden.

I am still a fan of Dot Hutchinson… and you bet I will finish the series because of her first book I am committed.
