A rock star romance spread across the years is a great way to start the new year and this is what I did

Many, many heart palpitations later I concluded Alexis and Ciarán's story wrung out, but happy. Mimi took these two through 20 years of I do, but I don't, I want to , but I can't, and you deserve better than me...A very intense emotional, angsty roller coaster.

Alexis meets her favorite rockstar at the age of 18 and Ciarán is 22. Immediately, they recognize this connection that's more than just her being a fan, they see each other in depth. They have a "season" in every phase of Alexis' life and each time Ciarán reappears Alexis is a badass, but she can't deny him no matter how bad it hurt the last time. There's this invisible thread that keeps these two connected no matter the pain, time, distance, or logic. Their chemistry... Whooo! They lit my Kindle up like an inferno.

I loved the nostalgic feel of the story as we went through each decade, the music, and feeling like I could see them change physically and their styles as well. I recommend this read asap. I couldn't stop reading it.

This was good. A little drawn out and they were each their own worst enemy (I've written a character like that myself) but I didn't hate it.
I did get the idea they weren't being authentic, even when they were together and was Laurel pregnant?
Did Alexis have a kid? Is that why she was so worried about him seeing her stomach?
There are a lot of unanswered questions.

SWEET MOTHER OF ANGST!

Well, that was quite a roller coaster ride! This book is what my teenage dreams were made of! The nostalgia mixed with the avalanche of emotions of this story made it one heck of a read! It was steamy, angsty, emotional and utterly romantic. Just what I hope it was going to be.

Alexis and Ciaran made my heart race a thousand beats per minute the entire time. They had a very natural and explosive chemistry from the start and the way they quickly fell for each other without even knowing was to die for! The phrase "so right for each other, never the right time" is the best description for what they had going on.

I loved the confidence, strength and overall badassery of Alexis! She didn't take shit from anyone (especially not Ciaran). I loved how she had the guts to walk away when she needed it, even if it killed her inside.

Ciaran was such a troubled and hurt man in need of fresh air. He frustrated me so many times, but I understood why he acted the way he did. I loved his POV so much, I was able to feel his anguish and pain. He loved hard but didn't feel worthy of the same love he was giving away. I loved his growth in the story and how he managed to redeem himself and win Alexis heart. He deserved every good thing.

"Alexis had come into his life like a song─ the tune and the words, disjointed, but ultimately stitching together harmoniously."

I felt everything with them. The longing, the hurt, the passion for each other and the lifetime of waiting just for the right timing. Mimi's beautiful writing was so engaging and touching that made my heart flutter with every single moment they shared together. I sighed dreamily, squealed and and rooted for their well deserved happy ending.

Huge thanks to Mimi Flood for gifting me a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. Well done, my friend! What a beautiful story!

Mimi Flood did it again! This was a beautiful, raw, angsty love story. I loved the dual POV and the way the timeline jumped to make this a love story across 20 years. I really enjoyed seeing the growth that both Alexis and Ciarán had as they got older and realized what they wanted.
If you're a fan of rockstar/celebrity romances, make sure you pick this one up!

Holy sh*t, Verses of Us by Mimi Flood was a RIDE.

The angst is strong with this one. My heart broke, and I was scared Alexis and Ciarán would leave it that way. (They didn't, thank-you Mimi 😉)

This is a love story that spans 20 years, and I'm happy to be mad about it 🤣

Ciarán is a Rockstar, Alexis is a HUGE fan, and a radio contest changes both their lives.

Alexis and Ciarán are frustrating and stubborn and made me want to throw my Kindle across the room. But their story is also beautiful and passionate and will have you believing in destiny.

This is the first book by Mimi Flood that I've read, and I will definitely be checking out her other books!
