I like the way this one ended compared to A Study in Scarlet and The Sign of Four, because the retelling of events was told from Sherlock Holmes. I find Dr. Watson to be a little bit annoying. So I didn't find the parts of the book with solely his narration to be my favorite.

my first time reading a classic, and sir arthur conan doyle at that! i loved his writing, and the character of sherlock is always a delight in whatever form he’s presented in.
i didn’t start piecing things together before around the halfway point, but i assumed the identity of the killer quite early and had pointed out some key information early in the book. i do love the foreshadowing in this book.
long paragraphs are a bit of a pet peeve of mine but otherwise this was a fun read! loved the relationship between watson and sherlock :)

This was ok, but I prefer the short stories.
Spoiler
The whole murdering someone by scaring them to death with a freaky big dog thing? Would that hold up in court? In the end, it didn't matter because the "murderer" died a very Artax (the horse from Neverending Story) death by swamp.

Fantastic terror novel. I can say I enjoyed so much this adventure and that I spent a good time the hours I dedicated to the reading of The Hound of The Baskervilles
