They call this one of the best Sherlock Holmes stories but he’s barely even in it. A great story with a lot of mysteries. The writing is a little hard to parse given that it was written in the 19th century but I think it’s fun when you get used to it. Be aware that the tropes of the time led to a lot of offensive assumptions about gender and culture; do not read this book if you can’t look past those flaws.

The most famous Sherlock story!

Unfortunately, I didn't really like this one. The writing was still fine, like the first two, but there was definitely a bigger focus on the actual mystery. This book gave me Agatha Christie vibes, which isn't generally my thing. The main reason I liked BBC Sherlock and preferred the first two stories was because of the banter between Sherlock and Watson. However, they were seperated for most of this story.

2/5, but I would recommend it if you're a huge mystery fan as the mystery itself is very well-thought-out.
